St. Poly and Dirt Trax indoor Classic

Headed down to St. Poly on sunday with a crew from Ottawa.

I really went to test my new tranny to see if the issues were fixed.
My first qualifier stopped only on the first lap. I burned through another idle gear and went back to the bench head slung low. After talking to one of the local Schumacher sellers I picked up and new idle gear and a shaft gear. After inspecting my shaft gear I noticed that it had turned into a very sharp toothed gear that was shredding the idle gear. So a quick change and it was ready to go.

My second qualifier the car was handling well and I followed KT around for a few laps then I pooped the bed falling way back and running a high 11 lap defiantly a slow run but was happy that tranny issues seem to be fixed.

My third qualifier went fairly well and I was on a high 12 when again I messed up. The track is slick and you just can't push it. The rhythem is hard to find for me there. However the time was at least good enough to find myself in the B main.

Sc went fairly well however once again I was on a decent 12 lap run enough to put me into the A main and I messed up missing the A main by .2 of a second once again B Q argg...

The mains turned out horrible for both. I landed funny on the 2wd and ripped out one of the ball cups ended my run quickly.
Sc started off well and lead the race for a few laps then mistake after mistake i slowly fell down to 3rd and when I finally got my rhythm the race was over.
Not a great weekend for my driving. I really need to boost my confidence in general.

Defiantly will make some changes for next time. I really think we can run other tires then the step pins for buggy and going to get some AKA's for the SC. The SC needs to have at least a 10.5 to clear the main jump. I lost so much time on that it wasn't funny.

Still haven't tried the saddle pack config for the Cougar as I haven't got a hold of a battery as of yet. Would love to try it at Dirt Trax but I think not for the big weekend.

Going to the track Weds for the day to help out KT get it ready for the big weekend. Lots of fast racers coming down gonna be a tough weekend to make the A. I am confident in the SC.
The cougar though needs some work. I really need to practice with the 2wd class in general to get a better feel for the car.

Schumacher releases Mi4CX

Schumacher has released their Mi4CX. I am really looking forward to switching over to the beautiful piece of machinery.
It is up there with the Xray as far as price as it is the top of the line for Schumacher. As well they have just released the Mi1. Coined as a great first race car. A great and cheaper way to get into sedan.

Schumacher

Well, after 20 years of on and off RC racing. I have picked up my very first Sponsor.
Schumacher racing in the UK has picked me up as a Team Canada member.
Obviously on the low scale. However I am pretty stoked.
Working on fixing the issues with the Cougar SV tranny. The new parts are on the way.
Hope to have it up and running for the next Dirt trax race in two weeks. Then after that the big indoor race in Nov.

I have been informed by the team manager that there is a new layshaft and idle gear coming that will be bullet proof. We are looking at 3-4 weeks before that arrives. In the mean time I am going to replace the 3 screw tranny to the new 4 screw tranny which should help the issues I am having.

Changes for next week setup:
New tranny cover
switching to saddle pack to get a little more rear grip. As well I want to see how it handles.
